Pray and It Shall Be Given

And all things, whatever you ask for in prayer, believing that you will receive it, shall be given to you (Matthew 21:22).

Prayer is a two-way conversation in which both God and we address one another through the medium of the other. You have a heavenly Father who listens to and responds to your prayers if you are a Christian. Jesus promised his disciples that they would receive “all things” they prayed for if they had faith and asked for them in prayer. Each and every man and woman whose life has been significant for the advancement of God’s church and kingdom has been a person of prayer. It is not an option to let yourself become too busy to pray.

A Christian who does not pray is a Christian who has no power. Jesus Christ devoted a significant portion of his time to prayer. On occasion, He would ascend to the peak of a mountain to spend the night in prayerful communion with the Father. If He thought it was necessary for Him to pray, imagine how much more important it is for us to pray!
