TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
They are Going to Look Into His Eyes
They are going to look into his eyes…
—The Book of Revelation 22:4 (TLB)
Being devoted comes with many benefits, one of the most significant of which is the assurance that one’s hope will be realised in the glory that will be God’s tomorrow. As the evening grew darker, a young girl could be seen racing towards a nearby cemetery. When she went by a friend, he questioned whether or not she was frightened to be walking through the graveyard at night. “Oh, no,” she said, “I’m not afraid. My home is just on the other side!” Because our eternal dwelling is “just on the other side,” those of us who practise Christianity do not dread the darkness that comes with death.
The resurrection of Christ turned the midnight of bereavement into the sunrise of reunion, the midnight of disappointment into the sunrise of joy, and the midnight of fear into the sunrise of peace. All of these changes occurred simultaneously. Your fear can be transformed into hope, and your disappointment can be turned into joy, if you have faith in and confidence in the risen Christ.
