TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Put on Humility Today Before the Presence of God

“When I scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the lands, then will they know that I, the LORD, have done it,” the LORD said. – Ezekiel 30:26 NASB

Throughout the entirety of the book of Ezekiel, this message is communicated: God’s desire was for all people to “be aware” that He is Lord. In Ezekiel chapters 29 and 30, this one phrase appears eight times by itself.

This is a recurrent idea throughout the entirety of the Bible, starting from the very first pages. In the Garden of Eden, we see God manifested as the Lord over all of creation. There, Adam and Eve were able to bask in the splendours of creation for as long as they could before they stopped acknowledging God as their lord. All of a sudden, their connection with God was severed, and they ceased to receive his blessings.

God is aware of the significance of the fact that we acknowledge Him as Lord. Receiving all of the blessings that He has in store for us is the first step toward a life that is blessed and full, and this is the starting point.

Yet even believers can forget God and take Him for granted. This occurs when we make ourselves the centre of the universe and fail to treat Him as the Lord. It also occurs when we forget that everything should begin with Him and fail to remember that He should be our starting point.

Why is it so vital that we do this? God desires for us to have lives that are rich in satisfaction and prosperity. When we acknowledge Him as our Lord, we enter into this life.

Put on humility today before the presence of God. You must not let pride be the driving force in your life. Instead of trying to find your own way, put your complete trust in God and let Him guide you. You shouldn’t rely on your own intelligence, but rather acknowledge God in everything you do. Allow Him to guide your decisions. Worship Him as a god. Make Him the Lord over every aspect of your life.
