Galatians 3:26 – You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus
Watching your child suffer from an illness or be in pain is the hardest part of being a parent. That a child must experience such things seems unfair. To help your child feel better, you would do anything. You can feel his suffering, and all you want to do is take it on for him. You can’t, though. You consequently feel alone and helpless.
It’s not just you. God has experienced this. He witnessed his Son’s suffering, but he was powerless to intervene if he were to deliver us. He must have a special place in his heart for parents of suffering children.
Likewise, the kids do. Because of his death, God’s Son became your child’s parent. And he shares your love for your child. He is aware of your shared suffering. He wouldn’t demand suffering from parents and kids without promising to make the situation better for you both.
He is also present at the bedside. Both you and your child will be brought through by him. Rely on him. rely on his love.
Prayer:
Lord, God, thank you for giving your Son for us. I give you my youngster. Be with us and assist us for the sake of Jesus. Amen.
