Be tolerant. One day, God will reveal your purpose for being here
Matthew 10:29 – Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
People who are ill spend a lot of time in bed wondering why they are there, which can be very frustrating. How did I get this illness? Why did I get into that mishap? Why did I have a heart attack or stroke? Why me?
Knowing would be nice. Like a playwright with a script, God has plans for how we will live our lives. If we could take a look at the page where we learn the reason for the hospital scene, it might make lying here easier.
That, however, will have to wait. When God determines it is time for us to know the reasons, they will be revealed. He eases our wait by assuring us that there are explanations and that they are motivated by his deep love for us. Only when God has a purpose for something does a small sparrow fall to the ground. How much less of a justification do you need before your hospitalisation? In the end, God’s Son died for you—not for sparrows.
Be tolerant. One day, God will reveal your purpose for being here. For the time being, just relax. He has a valid reason.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to be patient. I need your guidance and love. Amen.
