Psalm 37:7 – Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
Don’t you wish you were in a hospital like the ones you see on TV? You go in, they treat you, and you leave — that’s it! That would be much better than having to keep coming back for the same problem. It seems to go on and on and on, and you find yourself wishing it would just end.
You want to ask, “How long, Lord?” “Will I always have to go through this?” His answer is always the same: Stay still and wait patiently. God has decided that this is how your life should be for a while. He has already decided when and how this will end for good.
And you can rely on his knowledge and love. He knows what’s best for you better than you or any doctor, whether you’re in good health or not. And his love made him give up the life of his Son to pay for your mistakes. His love for you will help you get through this tough time and bring it to a happy end. Stay calm and wait for him!
Prayer:
Lord God, my Savior, give me the gift of patient trust in your great wisdom and love for me. For Jesus’ sake I pray. Amen. I thank you for it even though I’m not sure what it is. Amen.
