TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Chosen and Worthy
Ephesians 1:4-5 (NIV)
“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”
In the grand narrative of eternity, Ephesians 1:4-5 unfolds a truth of profound significance—we are chosen and worthy in the eyes of our Creator. It’s an invitation to embrace our divine identity, recognizing that our worthiness is not defined by worldly standards but by God’s eternal love.
Chosen Before Creation: Imagine being chosen before the tapestry of time was woven. Ephesians 1:4-5 unveils the mystery that God chose us before the creation of the world. In this truth, may we find assurance that our worthiness is rooted in a divine choice that predates time itself.
Adoption into Sonship: God’s love is an adoption into sonship. Ephesians 1:4-5 declares that we are predestined for adoption through Jesus Christ. In this adoption, may we revel in the truth that we are not merely chosen but embraced as sons and daughters of the Most High.
Holiness and Blamelessness: Worthiness is not earned; it is bestowed. Ephesians 1:4-5 presents the reality that, in Christ, we are made holy and blameless. As we navigate the journey of faith, may we accept the grace that transforms our identity into one of holiness and blamelessness.
Love’s Pleasure and Will: Our worthiness is aligned with God’s pleasure and will. Ephesians 1:4-5 reflects a love that is intentional and purposeful. In acknowledging this truth, may we stand confident in the knowledge that our worthiness is intricately connected to the pleasure and will of our Heavenly Father.
Identity Beyond Earthly Standards: Worthiness is often measured by earthly standards. Ephesians 1:4-5 calls us to transcend these standards and find our identity in Christ. In this divine identity, may we discover a worthiness that surpasses human comprehension, rooted in the eternal love of our Creator.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, in the mystery of your love, we find our worthiness. May Ephesians 1:4-5 be our anchor, reminding us that we are chosen, adopted, and made holy in Christ. In this divine identity, may our lives reflect the beauty of your love. Amen.
