TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
John 3:16
John 3:16 – God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
More than any other word, “love” has been mistreated. The world has been taught by Satan to associate love with gratifying its desires and the emergence of sexual and other desires. But love is defined differently by God.
The compassion the Creator has for His fallen creations is a true demonstration of love. God had a plan to end the curse of sin on the world through the sacrifice of his Son, Jesus. Jesus would become physically human. Jesus would carry our guilt to the cross at Calvary and bury it there. Such love! A furious father pardons his rebellious children! Such love! Through the death and resurrection of his Son, God has pardoned me!
I won’t burn in hell because God loved me so much. God is so loving, and there is only life—abundant, eternal life—in that love.
Prayer:
Father, please pardon me for the times I have disregarded your holiness and help me to live forever in the safety of your loving arms. Amen.
