TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Luke 2:29-31
Luke 2:29-31 – Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people.
Life can be hard on our bodies in many ways. It causes sickness, pain, disappointment, and a lot of tears. Even Paul, who was an apostle, asked to be freed from “this body of death.” Sin is the cause of all the bad things, both ours and those of others. Our world is not the perfect paradise that God made it to be, and neither are our lives. We’d love to find peace and happiness.
We can! Peace is ours because of the child that the old man Simeon held. Because of the wounds Jesus took on the cross, our souls have been healed and given new life for all time. This same Jesus also promises to lead us safely through the maze of problems that life can bring to our home in heaven.
Jesus has saved us, and like Simeon, we can now find the strength to live with hope and die peacefully.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, give me the peace of forgiveness through Christ even though I am going through hard times. Then I will lay my tired head down and sleep safely until my day of peace that will never end in heaven. Amen.
