TODAY’S DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

Psalm 46:1-2

Psalm 46:1-2 – God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear.

The words of Psalm 46 occasionally seem hollow to us. Despite the fact that we put our trust in the Lord, bad things can still happen to us. A hospital or nursing home is where we end up when we are ill or hurt. What happened to the promise that he would be our strength and refuge?

But we need to keep something in mind. God did not promise us a life without problems just because we are Christians. The exact opposite! According to the Bible, “We must go through great tribulation to enter the kingdom of God.”

He is our strength and refuge. He claims to be our constant help in times of need. We will experience difficulties, but never more than he can manage for us. He never gives us the ability to endure more than he does. We will genuinely find safety and refuge when we turn to him for it.

That might imply that we will recover physically. It could not. God, in his wisdom, chooses how to assist us when we are in need. He might even cure the disease. He might give us the willpower to put up with it. He might even cure the disease. He might give us the willpower to put up with it. He might employ it to help us leave this world. We are aware that whatever his will is for us, it is for the best. We won’t be afraid.

Prayer:

Lord, be our strength and our help. Make us believe in you, and never let us succumb to fear. Amen.
